Uddhav Thackeray attacks BJP over Ram temple donation row, MP defections

# When Political Parties Claim Ownership of Ram, Bharat Has Already Lost

The moment Uddhav Thackeray demanded that the BJP "free Lord Ram from their captivity," India's entire discourse on Sanatan Dharma shifted — but nobody noticed which direction.

What Actually Happened

Maharashtra's Uddhav Thackeray attacked the BJP over the Ram Mandir donation controversy and rising defections from his Shiv Sena faction. His core argument: the BJP has "monopolised" Lord Ram for electoral gain. He positioned his faction as the true custodian of Hindu values while accusing the saffron party of reducing the divine to a campaign asset.

This is not new political theatre. This is a civilisational collapse dressed in slogans. Thackeray is fighting the BJP for control of a symbol. What he has not realised is that the moment you fight someone for control of Ram, you have already lost Ram. You have already admitted that Ram is a political commodity. You have already betrayed Sanatan truth.

What This Means for India

Here is what the Ram temple donation row actually reveals: both the BJP and its critics have internalised the same colonial logic. They both believe that control over religious symbolism equals political power. They both believe that Ram is a campaign asset to be "owned."

This is the mind of conquest. This is not the mind of Sanatan civilisation.

In Vedic India, Ram was never "owned" by any dynasty. Ramarajya was not a political slogan — it was a principle of governance where the ruler served dharma, not dharma served the ruler. When Rama killed Ravana, he did not create a "Rama brand." He upheld the eternal law. When he ruled Ayodhya, people remembered not his party symbol, but his adherence to truth, even when truth cost him everything.

Today, every politician claims to represent Ram. This proliferation of Ram claims is actually the death of Ram in the public consciousness. Ram becomes whatever the speaker wants him to be — for the BJP, he is nationalism; for the opposition, he is social justice; for the fake intellectuals, he is mythology.

What happened to the actual principle?

The Deeper Story Nobody is Telling

The real tragedy is not political competition over Ram. The real tragedy is that ordinary Indians have lost the capacity to understand what Ram means outside of electoral cycles.

Ramayan is not a historical document. It is a manual of dharma — of right action under impossible circumstances. Rama abandoned his throne, his family, his happiness to protect truth. He destroyed Lanka not because he wanted to rule it, but because Ravana's violation of dharma had made his destruction inevitable. These are principles, not political policies.

When Uddhav says "free Ram from BJP" and when BJP says "Ram is with us," they are both speaking a language that ancient India never spoke. They are both saying Ram is capturable. They are both wrong.

The civilisational cost of this competition is immense. While politicians fight over Ram's image, the actual teachings of Ramayan — about sacrifice, about dharma, about what true leadership means — dissolve into irrelevance. The young Hindu today knows Ram through TikTok videos and WhatsApp debates, not through the lived understanding of what dharma means.

The Vedic Pattern

In the Rigveda, Indra is praised not as a political symbol but as the upholder of cosmic order. Every ritual, every practice, every teaching in Vedic civilisation was designed to align individual action with universal principle. No king could "own" Indra. No dynasty could claim monopoly over the devas. The moment a ruler began to believe he controlled the divine, that ruler had already separated himself from the truth.

This is the exact separation we are witnessing today. Every party that claims Ram for elections has already disqualified itself from understanding what Ram represents.

The Path Forward

Sanatan Bharat does not need another political party to rescue Ram. Sanatan Bharat needs ordinary Indians to remember that Ram belongs to the dharma principle itself, not to any man, family, or party. The moment you stop fighting for control of Ram and start living the principles Ram embodies, that is when Ram returns to Bharat.

Until then, all this noise is just the sound of a civilisation forgetting itself.
