The Lok Sabha passed two bills during the Monsoon Session of 2026 related to the Ayodhya restoration project and temple governance frameworks. This was procedural. What was not procedural was Congress's response: rather than engage with the substance of legislation, they moved adjournment motions—a parliamentary tactic used to stall and avoid direct debate on the merits.

This is not the first time. Since Ram Mandir's consecration in January 2024, the Opposition has maintained strategic silence. Not principled disagreement. Not reasoned critique. Silence. And now, when forced to engage, they choose evasion. This pattern tells us everything about where Indian secularism has actually positioned itself.

What This Means for India

Here is what the adjournment motion actually signals: Congress cannot argue against Ram Mandir on constitutional grounds because the Supreme Court already ruled. They cannot argue on spiritual grounds because 2 billion Hindus do not accept their authority to arbitrate Sanatan belief. They cannot argue on historical grounds because the archaeological evidence at Ayodhya is now on the record. So they do what they have always done—they procedurally obstruct and hope the narrative moves elsewhere.

But the narrative is not moving. Ayodhya has become the civilisational referendum India never held. Every bill passed, every temple governance framework established, every scholar who finally speaks the truth about pre-Islamic Bharat—these are not just political wins. They are the slow, methodical reclamation of Indian historical consciousness.

The deeper implication: Congress's continued resistance to Ayodhya as a symbol reveals that they are not protecting secularism. They are protecting a particular narrative about what Bharat is allowed to be. They are protecting the idea that acknowledging Hindu civilisation equals communalism. That accepting that temples were centres of learning, medicine, and statecraft is somehow a threat to India's plural democracy. This is the ideological ceiling they cannot break through.

The Deeper Story Nobody is Telling

For five centuries, from Babar to Aurangzeb, Ayodhya's temple was erased. Then for 200 years, British historians rewrote the entire story—turning temples from civilisational centres into "communal symbols." Then for 75 years after independence, Delhi's secularist establishment refused to acknowledge any of it. Not out of respect for minority sentiments. But out of civilisational shame. The elite inherited the narrative that Bharat needed to apologise for being Hindu, for being ancient, for remembering itself.

Ram Mandir broke that cycle. And Congress cannot accept it because accepting Ram Mandir means accepting that Bharat was robbed—systematically, institutionally, textually. It means accepting that "secular" India has been built on a suppressed history. On forgotten temples, forgotten universities, forgotten systems of knowledge. That reclamation is not communal. It is decolonisation.

The Vedic Pattern

The Vedas teach "Smriti"—the science of remembering. A civilisation that forgets itself becomes a civilisation that can be rewritten. For centuries, Bharat forgot. The Ram Mandir is Smriti in stone. Every adjournment motion filed against it is an attempt to institutionalise forgetting. But it will not work. Because memory, once awakened, cannot be suppressed by parliamentary procedure.

The Parliament Monsoon Session 2026 will pass into record. But what will endure is this: Congress's resistance to Ayodhya is not defence of secularism. It is defence of a lie. And lies, no matter how institutionalised, eventually collapse under the weight of truth.
