Opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav has called it an "insult to Sanatana Dharma," framing it as a criminal matter when it could easily be an administrative one. An SIT (Special Investigation Team) has been formed. Politicians have made statements. Newspapers have run their stories.

But here's what actually matters: a 500-year civilisational memory—five centuries of Bharat waiting to reclaim its sacred geography—is now trapped in procedural theatre. The mandir that should symbolize national rejuvenation has become evidence in a political drama. The sacred has been converted into court documents.

What This Means for India

This is not about corruption. Every large organization in Bharat—temples, trusts, NGOs, corporate structures—has administrative gray zones. The question is never whether paperwork is perfect. The question is always: why now? Why this organization? Why this narrative?

When the Ram Mandir was constructed, it represented something unprecedented in independent India's political culture. A civilisational project that transcended the electoral cycle. Millions donated not as voters making transactional demands, but as believers completing a collective memory. That distinction matters enormously.

The two cannot occupy the same space without destroying each other.

The real insult to Sanatana Dharma is not an SIT probe. The insult is that we normalized the idea that a sacred institution requires criminal investigation to maintain legitimacy. We accepted that dharma needs state validation rather than civilisational validation.

Vedic civilization understood something we have forgotten: sacred institutions must operate in their own domain, governed by their own rules. When the ashram becomes subject to rajya (state) authority, when the mandir becomes subject to police procedure, when dharma becomes evidence, the civilization has already surrendered its sovereignty.
