CRPF OFFICER SUSPENDED FOR DISSENT. GOVERNMENT TIGHTENS CONTROL OVER ARMED FORCES SPEECH.
A DIG-rank CRPF officer suspended. Twenty others transferred. Crime: families protested the CAPF Bill at Jantar Mantar and Rajghat. The message is clear — dissent by jawans or their kin = career end.
The CAPF Bill strips armed forces of collective bargaining rights. No union, no protest, no voice. The government calls it "discipline." What it actually does: isolate the soldier from his family's grievance. When a jawan's wife cannot speak, the jawan cannot think independently. Control becomes total.
This is not about law and order. This is about institutional silence. A healthy military has grievance redressal. A controlled military has fear.
India's armed forces are stretched across two fronts — Pakistan, China. The last thing the government should do is create internal mistrust. Yet that is exactly what happens when you suspend an officer for his family's lawful protest.
Where is India strategically right now? Stronger in hardware. Weaker in trust.
If your son cannot tell you he is unhappy with service conditions without destroying your career — is the military truly ready to fight?
